Bertrand Godin s’est acheté la voiture de ses rêves!
Plusieurs passionnés d’automobile rêvent de posséder une Ferrari un jour, mais à peine une poignée de chanceux pourra réaliser ce rêve. C’est pourtant le cas du pilote et instructeur québécois Bertrand Godin, qui vient de mettre la main sur l’objet de ses rêves: une Ferrari 308 GTS 1983.
Pour en discuter, il était invité au micro de l’émission Le Guide de l’auto, sur QUB radio, animée par Antoine Joubert et Germain Goyer.

Si Bertrand Godin a longtemps rêvé de se trouver derrière le volant de ce modèle précis, ce n’est pas le fruit du hasard.
«La première fois que j’ai vu cette voiture-là, c’est dans une publicité d’American Express avec le gars qui m’a inspiré à faire du sport automobile, Gilles Villeneuve. Tu le vois dans sa Ferrari 308 GTS et il dit “Ne partez pas sans elle” et il démarre ensuite avec la voiture. À partir de ce moment-là, j’avais le poster de la 308 GTS dans ma chambre et j’en rêvais», raconte celui qui a par la suite couru en Formule Atlantique, en Formule 3000 et en Formule 1600.
Comme dans Magnum P.I.
La Ferrari 308 GTS fait partie des modèles des années 80 qui ont fait rêver toute une génération d’amateurs. Le grand public a connu ce modèle légendaire notamment grâce à la série Magnum P.I. Diffusée de 1980 à 1988, cette série américaine policière mettait en vedette le personnage de Magnum, incarné par Tom Selleck, au volant de sa Ferrari.
«À l’époque, j’écoutais Magnum P.I. non pas pour voir le détective, mais juste pour voir la voiture ne serait-ce que quelques secondes pendant l’émission», se rappelle avec nostalgie Bertrand Godin.
Après en avoir rêvé depuis des décennies, une occasion s’est enfin présentée à lui récemment, et il est sauté dessus. Un ami qui possédait ce véhicule tant convoité lui a proposé de l’acheter. «Ça ne pouvait pas adonner mieux que ça», se réjouit Bertrand Godin.
Une première voiture de collection
Reconnu pour être un passionné d’automobile, Bertrand Godin s’est retrouvé derrière le volant d’une multitude de voitures de course pendant sa carrière. Or, jamais il n’a possédé une voiture dite de collection. Avec cette Ferrari qui soulignera bientôt ses quarante ans, il débarque dans l’univers de la voiture ancienne en marquant un coup de circuit.
«Il s’agit d’une 308 GTSi, donc une version à injection. C’est une version scoperta, ce qui veut dire “découverte” donc elle a le toit rétractable», précise-t-il. Bien sûr, il a opté pour un modèle de couleur rouge, un impératif, selon lui. «Pour moi, une Ferrari, il faut que ce soit rouge! […] Je ne voulais pas d’autre couleur», précise-t-il.
Bertrand Godin a également mentionné qu’il participerait à quelques rassemblements automobiles cet été afin, que les amateurs du Québec puissent la voir de près.
