With 505 horsepower from a Ferrari-derived V6, lightning quick steering, and one of the best chassis in the business, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is one of the best sports sedans you can buy right now.
But what if Alfa made an even quicker, prettier, coupe-ier, hybrid-ier version? Well, that’s the plan according to FCA’s five-year plan that was unveiled today. That car, the GTV Quadrifoglio, will appear by 2022 and have a hybrid powertrain making more than 600 horsepower. Yes, that’s right, 100 horsepower more than its sedan brother, and from these murky images, what appears to be a beautiful body.
While we’ve heard rumors of a Giulia coupe for a while, what we didn’t necessarily expect was 50:50 weight distribution and all-wheel drive with full torque vectoring would be paired with the return of a name that has appeared on some of Alfa’s greatest and most memorable sports cars from its long history. Sounds amazing. And we’re sure it’ll look amazing too.
FCA has done events like this in the past for its brands where it announces a five year outlook for investors and stakeholders. It should be noted that the last time they did this, there were some items on the plan, like a 4C Quadrifoglio, that never came to fruition. We’re very hopeful that’s not the case this time.
